exploring the city

Yesterday Matt and I went to the Eiffel Tour and the Arc de Triomphe. We didn't have time to write about it but I posted a few pictures with the previous entry. Free wi-fi is a pain to find.

Today we walked from our studio (which is the size of our master closet) to the Louvre. On the way we stopped at the Pont Des Arts bridge. It's where people put padlocks on the railing of the bridge then throw the key into the river below to symbolize their love. I also got to be a practice model for some photography students!

The Louvre is giant. Above ground you can't really tell but once you get in its like a maze! There are so many things to look at, it's dizzying. Plus all the descriptions of the art and exhibits are in French.
Mostly everyone speaks English by the way. It's good to know a few phrases in French though. "Pouvez-vouz m'aider?" is one I say a lot.

Later we are going to the train station to buy our tickers for Marseille. Then more sight seeing and tonight we will be at the top of the Eiffel Tower!

That is if my feet aren't dying. Apparently Matt doesn't like to use money on public transportation. So we walk. Everywhere. -_- Which led us directly through like a prostitution parade...

Eventually we did make it to the station. From now on we're paying for transportation. Le sigh. Tomorrow we're going to see the Pantheon and Notre Dame. I want to see the catacombs to but I don't know how to find them. We still are planning on going to Versailles as well but that will be a day in itself. Good thing we still have 3 full days here!

I'm kind of writing as we go and I post whenever we get a chance.

Au revoir!
