Sea Life Aquarium

There are so many fun things to do up in the Phoenix area! Today Auntie Shay met up with us at the Sea Life Aquarium! I haven't been to AZ Mills in forever, but it's so neat they changed it up and added this fun place!

At first Parker just stared at the tanks. He has seen fish before and loves them but these are definitely bigger than the tank his Uncle John has! After a little but he understood that there were tanks full if fish in every room! He was pulling us around and getting so excited when he saw new water animals!

His favorite was definitely touching the starfish. It's not surprising considering how much he loves water! But then he wanted to stick his hands in every tank. It took us an hour to go through the whole place. It would've been longer if he were older I'm sure. Plus we bypassed the play area because he's still a little too small.

little sickling

When Parker gets sick, boy does he get sick! He's just like me and colds kick his butt! I thought he may have gotten something worse at first because he was so lethargic and didn't eat or drink much. Poor baby was coughing so much and was really congested. The suckiest part was that we weren't at home with our cold fighting medicine or cozy bed to sleep in.

This marks the beginning of two weeks in Gilbert helping my husbands Michigan family with their transition out here. My parents have been so great letting us stay at their house and helping out with Parker and Matt's sister. Making us all feel at home as we figure out school and rental stuff.

Not so fun when I caught Parker's cold too. Stuffy and achy and tired all day. I felt bad thinking that's how Parker was feeling!  Luckily I got to rest a bit the first day but there's so much to take care of!

DIY tile framed mirror

I've been in the mood to update our home lately. The first project I wanted to do was frame our mirrors! I was scrolling through Pinterest for some inspiration when I saw a DIY for a tile framed mirror. Heck yeah!

It was so easy too! I had Matt help me with taking the mirror on and off bc I'm super accident prone and I could just picture the glass shattering around me. But other than that I did it on my own!

I bought 2 sheets of backsplash tiles from Lowes along with some mirror safe Liquid Nails. We removed the track and those ugly clips on top and adhered the mirror directly to the wall. The next day I cut out the tiles individually and cleaned up half of the back because I didn't want the glue from the mesh showing on the mirror. I started at the bottom then worked my way across then up again. The trickiest part was making sure I spaced the tiles just a tiny bit so they fit perfectly.

Ion the upper half if the mirror I had to tape the tiles to the mirror so they didn't slide around! It took a couple days because I wanted to make sure the tiles stuck. But I think I definitely love it! Just have to fill the clip holes and touch up paint. :)

Play ball!

Today we took Parker to his first baseball game! Of course Poppa had to be there too for this big sports event although he wishes we had gone to an Orioles game! ;)
Parker was such a great kid! He sat on our laps, clapped, danced, and ate ballpark food! There was a little kids play area I took him up to for a bit just because he was getting squirmy. He loved sliding and watching the other kids play. I'm really surprised he lasted the whole game! We all had fun and we won!

Creeping up on 16 months...

Parker is a strong little smarty pants. I am amazed at how much he can say and do!

Words he knows: mama, dada, nana, poppa, Erin (his friend Ella's mom who he loves), dog, cheese, bye, hi, bubbles, snack, ummm, whoah, that, eyes, banana

Can point to his belly, eyes, mouth, teeth, tongue, nose, head, hair, feet, ears

Signs he knows: all done, more, please, thank you, waves, play, drink, eat, wash, fish, bird, dog

Animal noises: cat, dog, giraffe, elephant, snake, bird, monkey, horse, lion & tiger, bear, sheep

He can hold his breath when he goes under water. He loves swim class and I am so glad we kept him in it and started so early. He likes to watch Mickey Mouse and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. At least the beginning and end when they sing. He loves reading books and would probably sit all day and listen to me read them over and over. His favorite game is "let's chase the dogs around the house with my walker". The dogs hate it. He runs and dances and claps and tries to sing and kisses and hugs and talks and does signs to songs.

He has 12 teeth is 31 in. tall and weighs 27lbs.
