Eee! I'm a little late on this considering my 12th week was last Friday. Everything is pretty much going the same. I still am getting nauseous when I don't eat enough and I have been getting headaches pretty often. I think that's just due to the bipolar weather.
Gained another 3lbs so that puts me at 8lbs up. Ugh. I am eating healthy though... pb&j everyday for lunch is good right? :)
Our little one is about the size of a plum and has most of her (his?) vital organs already formed. Yay! Matt and I think that I'm having a girl. Even though he was bummed that he may not get a boy first, he is still happy and talks about how spoiled she will be. Who knows though?! We could go in and anything could pop up on that screen! Obviously we're both happy no matter what.
Currently I am doing research on stay at home moms vs. working moms. I still am not 100% on which is right for me. Staying at home for a couple years or keep working though my baby's first years? Ever since my facebook post about wanting to stay at home to do pinterest crafts, this has been a daily thought. I'll be making a pros and cons list soon. Feel free to give me advice. I'm open to anything right now.

common core vent
Anyone who knows me can tell you that I love my job. Teaching is so much fun and I never go to work in a bad mood. I love talking to the kids and seeing that little light bulb click when they learn something new. Now it's a different ballgame. Any teacher can tell you how much of a pain Common Core is. Between the new evaluations, assessments, and standards there is a lot of change to deal with all at once. First of all, I am terrible with change. I like routine, which is why I think I get along so well with my first graders. Also, no one really taught us what to do with the standards. It was like they handed us the new stuff and said "Good luck!". The good thing is, there are so many awesome teachers who have created lessons and assessments to share online. The hard part is finding time to look for it, print it and use it in the correct way.
So. In a nutshell. I am completely overwhelmed. My team is hardcore and they are jumping right into it all. I still am pretty new and am still trying to get comfortable in the new district. I had a little mental breakdown last week as I was trying to hang all my content goals for each subject (to be changed each time we cover a new topic), find out which standards aligned with the lessons/assessments I was giving, map out a whole year in math, plan meaningful reading and writing activities, assess my students reading levels and try to have some fun in that room! So far I don't have any difficult parents so that makes it a little easier. The kids are great too and I have a very small classroom size (16 as opposed to last year's 30!).
Hopefully it will get better as the school year goes on.

11 week update
So we finally were able to tell people about the little lime like a week ago. It's so fun to share exciting news like that! At the last appointment, we got to see the baby again because they had to monitor a couple cysts I had on my ovaries. I've had them before but they just had to make sure they were shrinking. Our little lime was wiggling all over and had a heartbeat of 177. We have had a lot of predictions for a girl but Matt is still hoping for a boy! Either way of course we are happy.
Been feeling so nauseous lately! The only way to feel semi decent is to eat. So I guess that's what I have to do! It kinda sucks when I wake up and immediately have to eat something. It's really hard to get ready in the morning when you feel like throwing up.
Another not so fun thing is that my pants already don't button! All that snacking has created a food baby sighhhh. I had to order a belly band which actually is really awesome! Haha. Seriously though, I didn't realize how big of a difference 5lbs is until now. Don't tell my mom or Matt that I'm complaining though, they'll just yell at me and say "You're pregnant!" I can't wait for this food baby to actually start looking like a real baby bump.
Oh and ps here's the 10 week picture. See, total food baby. maybe I should start taking them in the morning... I'll post one every other week though.
