Sitting down to have a couple cappuccinos, a square-shaped croissant, and some little egg-cream things that were really good, but we don't honestly know what they were. Note to self: learn more French
Now it's off to a brewery that only makes organic Belgium beer. Should be both delicious and interesting.

Bonjour Belgium!
We finally have arrived! Man are international flights a killer! Working on about 2 hours of "sleep" it's 9:30am here. Matt and I are starting our first day of our trip. We have to get from the airport to Grand Place, which is like the downtown of Brussels. Let's hope the handful of phrases I memorized are useful! Wish us luck!

layover
We made it to Atlanta! They are 3 hours ahead here. So it's about 2:30pm. We have a 3 hour layover before the long flight to Belgium. We look ridiculous with our backpacks! Typical tourists. But it's easy to get around without checking in bags. I do have to admit that my shoulders hurt a bit. :/
Pray for safe travels!

Parlez-vous English?
For our friends and family who will be following us online we are going to be uploading photos and blogging when we can. We've heard that wi-fi is available in many places in Europe so we'll check in as we travel.
We're both getting super nervous but at the same time excited about leaving. We keep hearing how Europeans don't like Americans and how we need to dress up a bit more. Also neither of us speak French or Italian! I've been practicing a few basic phrases. ("How are you?" French - Comment allez-vous? Italian - Come stai?) Hopefully the native Europeans will pity my poor language skills and help out.
We fly out on May 29th and land in Brussels, Belgium May 30th. Terrible right?! A whole day of flying. Sigh. The time difference is killer though because Brussels is 9 hours ahead of Arizona. So we land at 8am in Belgium which really is 11pm in Arizona. Needless to say, we are taking sleeping pills on the flight. Hopefully our excitement will keep us awake so we can jump right into the adventure!
We both are bringing only backpacks. It's actually not too bad. You can fit a lot of clothes in those things! So... I'd better get back to packing. Only two more days until we leave!
